History of Sweeney McGann

David J. Sweeney and Gearóid McGann founded Sweeney McGann Solicitors at 67 O’Connell Street in 1995. After graduating with honours from UCC and serving his apprenticeship in Murray Sweeney Solicitors, Gearóid established Gearóid McGann & Associates Solicitors. Gearóid successfully built this firm to become a highly regarded and respected office in Limerick. David J. Sweeney was a Partner in Murray Sweeney Solicitors, which was one of the largest and most successful regional firms in the country at that time.

Founded in 1995
He and David J. Sweeney founded Sweeney McGann in 1995 after David joined from Murray Sweeney Solicitors. David comes from a distinguished legal family including his father, Prof. J.M.G Sweeney, who spent some time with Sweeney McGann before he passed away in 2000. David was a founding partner in Murray Sweeney Solicitors along with his brother Joseph R. Sweeney and Michael D. Murray. Joe is a founding Partner of Eversheds O'Donnell Sweeney, one of the countries largest law firms, while Michael D. Murray is the State Solicitor in Limerick.

Developed
Since the firm’s foundation, Gearóid has developed the firm to the level where it can provide a wide and complete range of legal services to clients and companies of all sizes. It is notable that Gearóid has led the firm to achieve many highly impressive results in recent years.  The Partners of Sweeney McGann are acknowledged as being a leading lawyers in their own areas of expertise and have established a wide and varied loyal client base both locally and nationally.
